FOUND A BIRD?
Always contact a wildlife agency in your area in the event that you encounter an injured/orphaned bird of prey. Helpful contacts such as the Humane Society, local veterinarians, Department of Natural Resources, local police stations and wildlife groups can be a source of information for finding a wildlife rehabilitation facility nearest you.
IF POSSIBLE DON'T LEAVE THE BIRD. CALL IMMEDIATELY AND TRY TO WAIT FOR ASSISTANCE. IF YOU LEAVE, THEY MAY NOT BE THERE WHEN YOU COME BACK. CLICK BELOW FOR HANDLING AND TRANSPORTATION INSTRUCTIONS.

DONATIONS AND WISH LIST
BCRR is entirely funded through private donations and are tax deductible. A misconception is that we are funded by the government. Every dollar raised goes back into the facilities which treat and care for the birds. Donations cover veterinary supplies such as antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medications, intravenous fluids as well as medical supplies. Donations also go towards food, building materials, educational supplies and utility costs that provide heat in the winter to our hospital clinic.
WISH LIST
Items can also be privately donated that we buy regularly, which can be dropped off at the centre. These include:
-
Mixed bird seed, cracked corn, duck starter, duck grower, straw, wood shavings
-
Rakes, brooms, heavy metal rakes, screws in any size, work gloves
-
Paper towels, laundry supplies, dish soap, scrub brushes, disinfectants, vinyl gloves, puppy pads
-
Office supplies, computer paper, stamps, lightbulbs (40w and 60w).
